The art of my mother, Betty Farasey
Woman in Pink
My mother painted this woman, but never hung her up prominently in her home. I don't know why she didn't want to hang it. To me, it was one of her very best pieces.
Auras
I have seen apparitions
etched in phosphorescence
Definitive guessings
define this experience
Everybody has some degree
of extrasensory perception
otherwise know as second sight
The images and feelings seen and felt
in a dream or a past remembrance
yet projected into the present tense
I describe auras
Molten vertical circles of energy swirling
like the kaleidoscope
you see when your eyes close
or the invisible electrical force
that animates our spinal chords
Remember, when guardian spirits
discard their physical forms
their auras continue to exist
as angels and ghosts
