Dubonnet Manor's Great Hall of Portraits
Pierre Dubonnet
Pierre is the Dubonnet Manor heir apparent. He is a fine student of music, a child prodigy. However, Pierre booby-trapped Jean Paul de la Rente's (Jacques' business associate) Jaguar after learning he skimmed profits from "Jacques in the Bach", directing the money to his own personal account instead of into Pierre's college education fund.
Virtuosity
Pierre practiced his instrument until the
calluses swallowed his fingertips but his
obsession didn't stop there.
In any dull moment it was his compulsive
habit to hum scales and mimic superficially
disorderly movements while his toe tapped.
While thoughts of performances certainly
dominated his daily thoughts, he honestly
felt that exaltation was in the act and
applause was just a garnish.
One day, black and white notation
began to unfold across
lampshades, walls, windows, and doors.
Feelings of suffocating melancholy
alternated with Tchaikovskian euphoria.
Eventually, Pierre's florid signature
morphed into a sixteenth note arpeggio
in G minor.
